Data Units

One product. One meter.

A Data Unit (DU) is how LiveArt measures the work it does for you. Light actions — opening an artist page, browsing results — draw a little. Heavy ones — a fresh valuation, an AI answer — draw more. Every plan includes the whole product; plans differ in how much work they include.

Metered, not gated

We don't lock features behind tiers. Almost everything on LiveArt is available on every plan and simply draws from your allowance:

  • Light: lookups, browsing, charts
  • Heavier: LiveArt Estimates, Outlook reads, analytics
  • Heaviest: AI answers and deep analysis

Two separate tanks

App usage and API usage are metered separately. Your app plan fills the app tank; a LiveArt API plan fills the API tank. Buying one never drains the other — and you can hold either without the other.

  • App tank — everything you do on liveart.ai and in the app
  • API tank — requests made with your API key (LiveArt API plans)

What happens at the limit

Nothing breaks. The meter warns you well before the wall, and if you do reach it:

  • Everything you've loaded stays visible — new pulls pause
  • Free surfaces keep working
  • Daily allowances reset at midnight UTC; monthly and period allowances reset on your billing date

Sized by purpose

Each plan's allowance is sized so its purpose genuinely holds: Free for occasional lookups and market reference, Pro for full-time individual work, Advisor for teams running client collections. Work within your plan's purpose and the meter stays out of your way — outgrow it and the next plan is one click away. LiveArt API plans state their allowance outright: 5,000, 10,000, or 25,000 API Data Units per month.
